Structura 2026 Constructing Excellence South West Award Nomination

Riverside commercial property, charcoal coloured fascade with glass Structura needs your votes!

Thrilled to see our passion for retrofit recognised with a shortlist at the Constructing Excellence South West Awards 2026 for our work on 1 Georges Square, Bristol with Mace and Buckley Gray Yeoman.

The winners are determined in part by public voting, so every vote genuinely makes a difference. We’d be very grateful if you’d like to support us by selecting us from the Retrofit category here .

Retrofit is what drives us as a business. For 35 years, we’ve specialised in finding sustainable, practical ways to preserve, repurpose and improve existing buildings, and recognition like this is something we’re incredibly proud to celebrate as a team.

1 Georges Square transformed a 25-year-old office building into a high-performing, ultra-low carbon workspace, improving the EPC rating from C to A while retaining and repurposing as much of the original building fabric as possible.

The project brought several complex challenges, including unforeseen structural and fire compliance issues, restricted access, and a major mid-project change in building use which required significant redesign and programme adjustments. Thanks to the expertise of our specialist retrofit team and close collaboration with Mace and Buckley Grey Yeoman, we successfully adapted and delivered an outstanding result.

With our dedicated Southwest office supporting clients and projects across the region, we’re proud to play a part in delivering sustainable retrofit solutions that help shape the future of the built environment.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this project to life and congratulations to all those shortlisted.
