FEATHERSTONE HIGH SCHOOL

A superb redevelopment of an ageing 1960’s concrete school building which now bathes the classrooms in perfectly diffuse natural daylight.

PURPOSE OF THE WORK:

To renovate an existing 1960’s single-glazed curtain wall using a Kalwall translucent façade. The school has already had Kalwall in its Sixth Form block at the same site for several years.

WHAT WE DELIVERED:

A new Kalwall façade which now bathes the classrooms in perfectly diffuse natural daylight providing the students with an environment that is comfortable to learn in throughout the year.

BENEFITS:

The new wall has delivered an increase in thermal performance to a u value of 0.56W/m2K. Each classroom now has natural daylight with no solar heat gain and without the need for shading blinds as there is no glare no hot spots.
