EVELINA LONDON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

A leak-free roof for this iconic London Children’s Hospital.

PURPOSE OF THE WORK:

To replace the atrium glazing for the Evelina wing of Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Children’s Hospital.

WHAT WE DELIVERED:

Structura installed 670 new high-performance double-glazed units each weighing 220kgs to ensure a leak-free atrium for the Evelina wing of Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospital Trust.  We designed and arranged specialist scaffolding inside and outside the building that allowed the hospital and hospital radio to remain open safely during the work.

As part of the project,  we designed and implemented  a movable, temporary roof which incorporated lift rails for the safe glazing of the double glazed units.

BENEFITS:

The work was carried out with the minimum of disruption to staff, patients or visitors and carries a 12-year warranty.
