Low solar gain and optimum insulation.
Kalwall is the most highly insulating, diffuse light-transmitting, structural sandwich panel in the world. Kalwall uses technology that harvests balanced, natural daylight while providing the ultimate in energy efficiency.
Thermal Performance
Kalwall offers a wide range of insulation packages, from 1.25 to 0.28 W/m2k, Kalwall’s exceptional thermal performance lets specifiers customise properties based on light level targets, climate zones and building type, as well as building orientation and microclimatic considerations. No other translucent building or glazing product performs better at reducing HVAC heating and cooling loads while harvesting daylight and managing solar gain.
Controlling Solar Heat Gain
Kalwall offers control over heat transfer without the need for special tints or coatings. The measure of solar heat gain is called the Solar Heat gain Coefficient (SHGC) and is expressed as a decimal between 0 and 1 and the lower the SHGC, the less solar gain goes into a building. Kalwall can provide a range of SHGCs with high levels of thermal performance for different types of building.
