Structura designed, fabricated and installed the structural glazing at this beautiful, reimagined space in the City of London.

The contracted works included Schuco shop-front screens, fully wrapped curtain walling system, punch hole windows, pass through doors and acoustic louvres along all 4 elevations of the newly reconstructed property. Working in collaboration with Knight Harwood, this sizable contract also included sourcing and installation of a large, bespoke curved screen glass panel along a public pass way to meet our clients’ criteria.

The new building (named ‘Whittington House’) emulates the Edwardian surroundings of the cul-de-sac, bringing new life and amenities into a beautiful corner of the city. The building is comprised of 5 floors, including terraces on the 4th and 5 floors, and a restaurant/retail space on the ground floor. The building cleverly links the surrounding historical areas via a pass way to transform access from neighbouring street, Ironmonger Lane.

Almost invisible to the naked eye, the rear elevation of the Whittington Building features a gradual curve. As a result, the installation of fixed light units required meticulous dimensional accuracy. To add to complexities, the frames were fitted before any other materials, ie. walls or stonework, meaning the tolerances were incredibly tight. We are proud of the work we deliver and aim for ‘first time right’ approach where both speed and skill are essential.
